In the past few months a war of words has erupted between SANParks and Animal Rights Africa over the management of rhinoceroses in South Africa's national and provincial Parks and on private land. But despite SANParks' angry kneejerk response there is little doubt that national and international concern about the current protection and management of these animals in South Africa abounds. |

Bushmans Kloof Wilderness Reserve & Wellness Retreat has been named Global Winner of Wildlife Conservations Programs (2009) in the prestigious third annual Condé Nast Traveler World Savers Awards. This honour was bestowed in recognition of its exceptional wildlife conservation projects and the replenishment of wildlife in the area. These include providing a sanctuary for the endangered Cape Mountain Zebra and Clanwilliam Yellow Fish, its support of the Cape Mountain Leopard project and the Clanwilliam Cedar Tree project, as well as for its efforts in clearing alien vegetation. |
